Hello,
I had secured a job with a hagwon in Daegu..... I secured with what seem to be a good recruiting agency in Korea. My flight was due to leave on Monday but Istill had not received my e-ticket. The agency I was working with contacted saying my flight had been rescheduled for Thursday. However, Thursday came and the director had still not been in contact with them and I still had not received my e-ticket. Anyway, long story short....contract has fallen through. I don't think she could even afford the airplane ticket.....Immigration in Daegu still have all my documentation.... the agency have asked the director to submit a letter of release and cancel my visa. However, seeing as she has been so unreliable and has already lied on several occasions, I am unsure as to when/if she will do this. I have other job interviews lined up and hoping to start asap... if I ring immigration and explain my situation would they just cancel my current visa? So confused!!
Thanks!

I don't know if it's possible to cancel a visa from outside of Korea. What's the final entry date on your visa? That's the date your visa will expire if you don't enter Korea and after that you can apply for another one. |

This sounds similar to something that happened to me. I was told by multiple sources that unless you take the job with them you are pretty much screwed for the year. And then, after the visa expires, you will have to go through the whole process again. You can't just "transfer" the visa over to another job.
Why don't you offer to pay for the flight yourself and ask for reimbursement? It seems like a lot of schools aren't paying for the round trip tickets anymore anyway. JMTC |
