If I have syphilis will I be able to get my ARC or will I be deported?

This is the hangul beside syphilis test on my health check.

무 반 응

I only ask because this is the only different hangul beside a test. All the others (aids, heoin, cannabinoids etc) all have the same hangul beside them which means negative. I am sexually safe and have no signs of the disease, but this still worries me. Any help with the translation/immigration knowledge would be helpful.

Thanks.

Do you KNOW you have it, or are you guessing you have it because the words are different next to that one and not the others? Did the doctor actually tell you you have it?

I ask because your hangeul translates to "No Response." Is it possible you're a drugged out stoner who doesn't have syphilis?

If you've got it, get it taken care of. It's not incurable you know. Unless you want to go the Al Capone route...

No. I don't know. I have had unprotected sex once in the last year and it was like 4 months ago. I have no signs or symptoms of the disease. What worries me is the hangul together translates to no response. But if you look at each one individually the 무 can mean acute periostitis, which is a sign of syphilis. The 반 can mean ban. And the 응 can mean yes. These are according to google translate. So, looking at each one individually scares me, but all together it means they didn't test for it (no response.) I'm just worried about being deported if I go to immigration.

And no I'm not a drugged out stoner. And the doctor didn't tell me I had syphilis. I just went and picked up the medical test form from the hospital. I didn't look at it until I was gone from there.

Yes the only reason I'm worried is because the hangul is different from all the other test.

Go back, talk to the doc. Will you get kicked out? Doubtful. It's treatable. You've got some time before you have to apply for the ARC, so if you DO have it, get it taken care of, get a new clean test, then there's nothing to worry about.

Also, perhaps it's a warning thing. I don't know squat about syphilis, but a quick look for periostitis shows that you can have it from other things. 무 반응 COULD mean "periostitis reaction", as in they detected that in your system, and because it's related they made a note. Just like tuberculosis - if you HAD it at one point OR if you had the vaccine (or maybe it was hepatitis?) it would show up on the test, and there is no way to tell if it was disease or vaccine.

I find it hard to believe that they would just let you take the results without giving you some meds.

Anyway, take it back to the doc, find out.

OH MY GOD!!!! Seriously, where do people like you come from?

You test positive for syphilis and you're first thought is "Oh,no, I hope I don't lose my HAGWON JOB!"

What about, "Oh my god I HAVE SYPHILIS!!!?"

Jesus Christ people.

My guess is its not. The hosptial wouldn't let you leave untreated. Its possibly but doubtful.
The good news its treatable. I can understand the primary concern being the job. You can treat the syphilis but if you lose your job and have to go home or look for another job i can see that being the more traumatic.

Relax, you don't have syphilis. 무반응 means "non-reactive", which means that you did not test positive for the disease.

The hospital released a statement over the weekend saying that the error was made when a transplant staff member thought he heard the word "non-reactive" in English from the standard donor HIV test, which indicates that the donor is HIV negative, when in fact the word "reactive" was given.

병원은 이식 담당 직원이 표준 기증자 에이즈 테스트에서 기증자가 에이즈 바이러스의 음성임을 나타내주는 "반응"이라는 단어가 도출되었지만 그 영어 단어를 "무반응"으로 듣고 실수를 저질렀다는 성명을 주말에 발표했다.

Acute periostitis is 급성 골막염 in Korean. You type in 무 with different words, Google Translate might as well give you radish.

Just drop your faith in Google, especially when you go from Korean to English, or vice versa.

It's amazing you haven't had your account banned yet. Ever post I read from you is rather inflammatory to everyone you reply to. It gets old, bro.

Rather inflammatory? So, what, I'm like the forehead acne of inflammation? At least my posts don't read like I typing them one-handed on my smart phone while sitting in a 9th grade English Lit class.

MigukCowboy's post is an example of a post that will get you banned. There is no room for posts like that here at Dave's.

On that note, I believe the OP has received the information they needed and there is no further reason to let the usual suspect turn this thread into a "lets see who can post the most juvenile swill."
