|
|
I was able to convince my boss to sign & seal a letter of release today, it's post-dated to October 1st. Is there anything he can do to nulify that letter? I'm thinking like cancel my visa, call immigration to tell them not to accept it, things like that?
Any info is appreciated, since my pay for August is two weeks late. I'd like to tell him to pay me or I'm not coming back. |

HUH????
You preferred trying to get a release letter over your salary? What are you thinking? |

The letter of release is not over my salary. It is in addition to my salary. For August, and for September. If he doesn't pay up I'm hiring a lawyer, plain and simple.
But, your astounded look doesn't answer the question at all. |

The question? Or questions?

This assumes you already have the letter, but now you are saying it is "in addition", so do you have it now or is he promising to give you it later?
If you have the letter now, it is useless, did he give an actual final date when you are released?
At which point did either of you give a 30 day notice of termination? Unless you go to immigration or give the notice, you are still employed under them as it regards immigration.
So, this release letter thing is quite likely a ploy to postpone paying you. He is taking advantage of your ignorance about this.
This is the order things should happen:
1. GET SALARY, salary first, ok?
2. If you have reached that stage you can't get salary, give notice to quit. This sets an end date. Still, you do either 1 or 2 before a release letter is given, understand?
3. After you have a final date and a notice has been given, then the school might give you a release letter. They are under no obligation to do so.
Put the cart before the horse and get your salary first, ok?
As long as you are teaching classes without money, he is going to use you. So, he is unlikely going to go to immigration and stop this windfall of labor you are so generously providing him. Keep up the good work or try to get your salary. |
