Got a few friends and a few tents. Where would you fine folks suggest we go camping? |

Uncrowded isn't too much trouble since most Koreans are busy during Chuseok doing all the family stuff. Just stay away from graveyards. And yeah, don't post your location here or pretty soon it'll turn into the stumbling drunk monstrosity that Deokjeok Do became. |

What: Biannual Deokjeokdo Camping Trip (May and September)
Where: Seopori Beach, Deokjeok Island
When: September 29, 30, October 1, 2012 (Sat, Sun, Mon)
Price: Free This is a DIY affair
How: 60min. ferry from Domestic Ferry Terminal in Yeonam Budu(Incheon Port), bus to beach 10min
Ferry Info: (032)887-2891~5
Abodes: There is camping on the beach or motels, I recommend camping.
Food: There are restaurants and supermarkets, again I recommend
bring your own food in a cooler and cooking on the beach.
To Do: Swimming, disk golf, camp fires, camp songs, camp sex
Notes: The ferry is usually really full this time of year so I would
reserve tickets now.
This Year:
1/ As always, Master of the Universe "Cups" tourney. (beer-in-hand-rule-applies)
2/ The never ending "last hole leader chooses next hole" disk golf
tourney. (beer-in-hand-rule-applies)
3/ The Century Club. 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes.
4/ The usual campfire.

I'm headed to Seoul since most city folks will be heading out to the country side. |

Which day of Chuseok is the best to travel by bus? The actual ceremonies are on Sunday I believe. Will most families be busy at home or at the cemetary on that day? I'm hoping to take a bus to Namhae area on Sunday and back on Wednesday. Is that traffic suicide there? Any thoughts? |

No day of Chuseok is good for travelling. But in general, on the first day, people will mostly be going from urban centers to the countryside, and on the last day the opposite. In the middle they'll be going everywhere. Mostly to graveyards and places to eat. If you have the chance to be going in the opposite directions, do it.

I hear Chiaksan down by Wonju is beautiful and not crowded. That's second hand though, don't take my word for it. |

On the island with the airport of of Incheon, there's a camp ground with facilities, even a pool and place for kids to romp around. You can take the bus out that way from the airport, or sometimes on weekends, the new subway will run pretty close, too.
Wish I could tell you more.... |

Do what most Koreans do. Find a slab of concrete and camp on it. |
