|
|
Yes. My hair is thinning. I was aware of it, but didn't realise the damage until yesterday when a video camera panned over my head showing the extent of it! Jeez! I don't need a wig, but I'm only 34. I'd figure my hair would hold at least to the age of 40!
Any options out there for me? Magical formulas? Treatment? Or do I have to accept fate and just curse God and shake my fist at the sky. |

It depends where you are losing hair but from the sounds of it you are losing it on the crown of your head.
Get a prescription for Propecia (finasteride) 1mg once daily and try going to your pharmacy to find Nizoral 2% shampoo. This is the most effective combination without resorting to surgery.
Propecia grows back hair in 80% of patients. It will stop thinning and regrow most of your hair, but it takes a good year after taking it. You will most likely experience some hair falling out but this is normal.
There is also Rogaine (minoxidil) but I'd advise against it because it is ineffective and even the Nizoral 2% shampoo performs better. It is also expensive from what I have seen.
Expect to blow through $100 / month to keep your hair. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it. |

34? You've had a good run man. I've been losing my hair slowly since my early twenties. It's been a slow process but I accepted it from as early as possible and just shaved it. And hey, you're nearly at mid-life crisis time so a new image might ward that off for a while |

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it. I need to keep my hair until I find a suitable mate. I fear what I'd look like bald, probably Frankenstein's bastard child
I blame my sister. She tore out a good chunck of my hair when I was 10 and I don't think the crown has been the same since! |

Hair does not make a man. Sure, some women like a head of hair...don't let it make you insecure.... |

at the top of the head you can take rogain or propecia and it is pretty effective. But if it is in the front near your temples, then it won't work. You have to get laser micro grafting plugs. I hear they are so natural that even doctors cant tell it has been done. It aint cheap. Around 10K. Korea has some of the best doctors in the world for it. It's up to you. I'd just shave my head. One less thing to worry about. |

Just shave your head dude. I'm not even bald and I usually shave my head. Right now I have about 1mm of hair.
Shaved heads feel good. I love having some short stubble on my bald head. |

I'll give the shampoo thing a go I think. It seems that the rogain or propecia (according to wikipedia) will either stop it from getting thinner or increase hair growth, but I'd have to take it every day. Hmmmm |

I think those topical solutions never really work. Why not get a really tight cut and take it from there. You should get a pretty good picture of what you'll look like with a shaved head from that. It's getting pretty cold though. Maybe buy a hat too.
Too be honest it's gonna happen eventually unless you're willing to fork out a lot of cash. Just embrace it man. It's not that bad. |

I'd rather date a guy who got this ridiculous-sounding procedure than someone who just gave up and started shaving it all off.
I'm still young though. Maybe when I get old enough that a large portion of my dating pool is balding, I'll change my mind. |

Is that the same as a guy saying he'd rather date a girl who had plastic surgery for breast enhancement rather than a girl who just gives up and sticks with an A-cup. Not my opinion by the way. |

There is a home remedy that has gained popularity in China,
1, Blend some fresh ginger and apply it on the hair loss area. 20-30 min/every other day
2, Comb your hair 20-30 min/every other day (the day when you dont use the ginger remedy) till you feel the heat from your scalp ( some would use acupuncture, but use comb unless you can find the service)
3, Fish Oil capsule /everyday
4, Revlon ginger shampoo.
Try at least 1 week, and lots of people say its very good...and new hair start grow again.
I don't know its true or not, but ginger has long been used for hair loss treatment in China, so it might be worth trying....Good luck.
If you do try it, update us your result

you know what else works?
Grape juice.
Also drinking the blood of stray kittens does wonders, you should try it. |
