Can anyone recommend dog friendly parks (or no-leash parks) and beach areas in Busan?

I haven't found a dog park in Busan. Heard of one in Ulsan but haven't been there. Really depends on your dog and how much you trust it around large groups of people and traffic. I've never heard of leash laws being enforced here though I'm sure if your dog bit someone or caused an accident you'd be liable. I take a big friendly lab who doesn't run away or react aggressively to little dogs growling at him or strangers pulling his ears. There's a dog club called retriever mania that has monthly meetings in dog-friendly places. If you have a lab or a golden and join the club you can probably get a ride to the meeting places that require a car.

Places I take a big friendly lab:

Haeundae beach - too crowded in the summer but fine the rest of the year. Lots of strange friendly people who will pull on your dogs floppy ears and feed him too many shrimp chips. Dig 6 inches deep anywhere on the beach and there is a dense layer of chicken bones.

Gwangan beach - not as crowded as Haeundae. Lots of Koreans bring their dogs here and there are big dogs from time to time. The beach road is busy so you have to trust your dog not to run in traffic.

Moontan road on Dalmagi hill - there's a hiking path below the street through the woods. Great place to take the dog for a quick hike in the city. Hikers coming the other way will sometimes freak out if your dog is larger than a rabbit.

Songjeong beach - good beach choice because the beach is large and usually not crowded.

Mountains - most of the mountains are good places to take your dog hiking. I usually let him off the leash once we get past the parks at the bottom which can be crowded and are too close to cars.

I thought the same until recently. I live near a park in daejeon and just last week 2 people who had their dogs offleash got a nice 200k won ticket from the police after an old lady called the cops. Dogs didn't even go near the old lady. Shes just scared of dogs and called the police. most people in my area have been keeping their dogs on leash ever since..

Law wise in korea offleashing is Technically illegal everywhere and your dog should also have a tag with his name and phone number at all times outside.

These aren't exactly reinforced but You do run a chance being fine if anyone scared of dogs decides to call the cops...

Just saying..
