This can be a cause of a lot of marital and family strife so I was wondering what are some good rules to go by that would keep everyone happy if an in-law of either yours or your spouse was to move in with you and your honey?

No shirtless running past the local middle schools. The MIL will not like it.

Also, considering you date 18 year olds exclusively, that "issue" will not happen to you.

Had to do it. Wink

If you are serious, I assume it depends on the relationship you have with the in-laws, on their attude, on your living arrangements (house, large apt, small apt).

My in-laws lived with us for 6 months when they visited Canada a couple of years ago and honestly it went fine. Then again, it was a a set period of time so perhaps that played into it.

A guy I know in Daegu married a Korean woman there and they lived with her parents for a year or so. They wanted to do that so they would get to know each other and all that. Well, it blew up in the faces big time. His wife decided to move out of her folks home after that year and they got their own place.

I know some people who took in their MIL or FIL after a death in the family and that sometimes went well while sometimes it was the crap meeting the fan right off the bat.

If you ask me, I would be fine with my MIL or FIL moving in with us should they be left alone (when the other one dies) and if they wanted to. I would offer the same deal to my mother and my wife is onboard with this. However, we have a good family relationship and are not space obsessed. I would not recommend it for anyone however!

For the record....19 is ok too.
The prettiest face I saw in Korea while jogging was near a school like...one day I should start a thread only about my running stories. It ought to be a real kicker!
------
Anyway that was the problem with the last girlfriend I had (yes, you were right about her age), when we discussed marriage and stuff like that one of the things we brought up is where we would move to. I mentioned a certain city and she thought it was a great idea because her older sister worked there and it would be great having her stay over and most probably move in. I was like "no way Nellie - not happening!".
Sister was hot too that would be a definite problem number one but also she was way too opinionated about things.
I knew this would lead to a really big mess so I was like "No dice!"
