The entire staff of my school was pulled into a meeting today and told that the school is closing. We were also told that we would not be getting paid for the month of September nor anytime worked in October as the owner is bankrupt. They say they want to close the school down on the 26th of this month, but chances are it will be closed this week. I have the following problems:
1. I have no money (I had some heath issues and had to spend a lot of money on that due to not having insurance).
2. I don't have an ARC card yet. I arrived here at the end of July and applied for my ARC last month. It should be here on the 17th of this month.
My questions:
1. Can I look for/accept a new job without my ARC in hand?
2. Is there anyway to have them ship my ARC to my new location if I do get offered a position elsewhere?

1. Yes, you can look for a new job now.
2. Yes, you can contact the immigration office and have it either picked-up or mailed to a new address. |
