Has anyone had to open up a US bank account while being abroad? Which bank did you use and did you have any problems? I tried to do a savings account with ING direct and they said that they have residency requirements that I didn't match up to. I'm wondering if this is standard practice; so far my google search hasn't been able to find any thing about residency requirements for other banks.
