Edited for 2012 schedule
Well it is that time of year when I do my little spiel on the all-you-can-drink special at Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest is a microbrewery with many locations around Seoul. Every year they celebrate the German Oktoberfest by having their own where you can drink all you want of their micro brews for 10,000W. There is no discount if you are a VIP member.
They have four types of micro brews.
1) Pilsner - my favorite
2) Weissbier
3) Dunkles - decent dark
4) Radler - weissbeer mixed with lemonade (they add an extra 1,000W for each glass so be careful)
They are making it a Seoul trotter again this year by having the celebration at each of their venues for only one week.
10/8(월) ~ 10/14(일) 서초점 (Seocho)
10/15(월) ~ 10/21(일) 마포점 (Mapo)
10/22(월) ~ 10/28(일) 종로점 (Jongno)
10/29(월) ~ 11/4(일) 강남점 (Gangnam)
11/5(월) ~ 11/11(일) 신촌점 (Sinchon)
11/12(월) ~ 11/18(일) 홍대점 (Hongdae)
Here are the directions to all. Maps are at the bottom of the links.
Jongno Oktoberfest directions:
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store02.html
Go to Jonggak Station (Line 1). Take Exit 1. Walk down until you see a side street (not the side street straight out of the station exit). The side street is right before the Nonghyup Bank. Walk down this street a little (you will pass an Izakaya). It will be on your left.
Sinchon Oktoberfest directions:
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store03.html
Go to Sinchon Station (Line 2). Take Exit 3. Walk down until you reach the 4-way intersection. Take a right. Walk down this street a bit until you reach another intersection and it will be on your right on the 2nd floor (I believe).
Gangnam Oktoberfest directions:
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store01.html
Go to Gangnam Station (Line 2). Take Exit 9. Take the first right down the major side street and you will see it on your right. It is in the basement.
Mapo Oktoberfest directions: (Using Naver Maps)
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store04.html
Go to Mapo Station (Line 5). Take Exit 3. Walk until the intersection (not far) and cross the road and turn right. It will be down the first street on your left. It looks like a large pink building will be on your left with a Candy sexy club in the basement.
Seocho Oktoberfest directions (Using Naver Maps)
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store05.html
Go to Seocho Station (Line 2). Take Exit 2. Walk down a bit and take the first left on a proper street (intersection with lights). Walk down this street for about two blocks and it will be on your right. It is a little passed a Joe's Sandwich.
Hongdae Oktoberfest directions (Using Naver Maps)
http://www.oktoberfest.co.kr/store/store06.html
Hongdae Station (Line 2). Take Exit 9. Cross the street going into the drinking area. Walk straight and you will see an IBK bank. It should be in that building in the basement (Couldn't see it with StreetView on NaverMaps but the directions state it is around there.)

I added directions for the missing locations by using NaverMaps and the Oktoberfest website. The directions should hopefully lead you directly there.
Prost! |

Too bad they're on Mondays, but it's understandable I guess. If it was on Friday or Saturday it would be utter carnage. |

You're reading it wrong. Each location is running the special for a week. The Jongno branch kicked off on Monday and runs through Sunday. |

I was thinking of a trip to Seoul - this would be optimum trajectory. You'd have to get there early. Koreans will freeload the crap out of that! |

The last few years I have gone I had no trouble finding seating before 6. But between around 6,15 and 6,30 it changes to about an hour wait minimum. It's not bad though as they bring you bread sticks and sample beer. |

It doesn't give any information on their website so there is probably no special that week. |

I had the Grilled Pork Knuckle at the Gangnam branch. It was excellent.
The skin was nice and crispy and the meat was tender. |

I am thinking of checking this out on Saturday. What time would people advise getting there for? |
