Basically my school is pretty shady with money in the past so my idea was to hurry up and get my ARC. Earlier this week I asked at school to help us set up an appointment at immigration, however he was quickly hushed by the owner and mentioned he will do it. Essentially this guy has been screwing us over and our 90 days were up, so we hightailed it to the immigration office anyways. Our school was not happy and soon we found out why, that they failed to fully register their school with the education board and just did some sneaky procedures to have us a secondary branch in another city. We havent been aware of that and have been given extentions until we can obtain our ARC after an investigation has taken place and our documents processed either in the city we work, or the city where our owner told immigration where we worked. On that topic we are all deciding to get new jobs and just plan and stay in our places as long as we can, I have a job that will be starting in Feb and the immigration agent told me it might be ok, but I feel I need to organize my visa documents again for a Japan run (hopefully I dont need a new CRC since I havent left the country after submitting my last long and the one I have is close to expiring). Any suggestions out there would be appreciated. Thanks |

I'd get a new CRC. Especially if its close to expiring. Do you want to run the risk of not getting that job because you don't have it? I am always one for erring on the side of caution, and whilst its a nightmare getting a new one, I think you should really do it.
Your situation sounds complicated, and I am not sure I know exactly what is happening with your school, but getting new docs and preparing to change schools sounds like a pretty good plan to me. I'd also be prepared to have to leave the country in case everything goes south and you need to leave. Saving your money would therefore be a good idea in case you need to book a flight somewhere.
Good luck! |

With your documented problem at immigration with your employer... switch to a D10 (looking for work) then switch back to an E2 with your new employer.
Talk to your immigration officer.

I have talked to the immigration officer about switching to a D10 visa. She agrees that is the best possible option, but they need to clarify our current situation and sort it all out. In the meantime we are getting a bunch of empty threats from our "former" employer about terminating our jobs and "hiring" new teachers on the spot for Friday/Saturday, it seems there just trying to keep the company from closing and have gotten desperate. Immigration has been shown to help us and be on our side for the most part, and hopefully they can set up our ARC and visa soon. |

This kind of underhanded behaviour is unfortunately all too common in Korea. |

I find it funny how these fools have the need to criticize Korea all the time. Miserable creatures. |

Yeah. Some Koreans see a bad foreign apple and think the whole batch is bad. How ridiculous is that? |

So, it's OK to be an ignorant racist because others are that way too? |

Well, statistics generally indicate that white collar crime is much more prevelant in Korea than other comparable developed countries.
So, it's not really ignorant to say that it is "all too common" here. |

PWed? When did I ever say that? If by being PWed means staying here because my wife makes a boatload of cash here that she couldn't in the States then, yes, I am PWed and proud of it. Mo money mo problems, Biggie and Puffy sure knew what they were talking about didn't they. GO troll someone else while I swim in my money my hot wife brings me every month. |
