Hi,

I'm looking for a nice place to get some drinks and food in Itaewon. It'd also be nice if there was pool or darts as well.

Can you guys help suggesting a place? A less-rowdy crowd would be preferred

Thanks!

I guess that place called "Prost" behind the Hamilton is the only place in Itaewon that approaches, yet does not reach, "nice".

L'homme. Just kidding, don't go there, I think it's a gay bar. Get one of those (Chip's now is it?) Itaewon maps. Most places usually aren't very rowdy on weekdays. The capital of Tennessee is usually dead, easy to get some ool-pay in.

bless u is a pretty nice, chill bar that has pool and darts. also, they serve food almost until closing unlike the other bars.

bulldog is good, too but i don't think they have a dartboard, only pool.

There ll be no pool or darts in Prost bar.
What you will find in there are a bunch of posers who are doing their best to be cool.

I'm pretty sure that's not what the OP is after..

JR bar is a good option I reckon.
They have pool, darts and the food is quite good there.
It has an element of class too which some of the other bars don't have.
It's spacious and new enough too.
It is located next to the Wolfhound bar. It's on the street behind Seoul pub.. Or geckos terrace. If u not sure about where it is- u can find it on Facebook or google !

Where is this "Bless You" joint of which you speak? I'm really bored with the places I know.

I thought Bulldog Pub had a dart board actually? My Korean friends think this is the most boring/lame place in the known universe. I think it's unremarkable but nothing particularly bad about it. Just really blah.

Really wish Itaewon would come up with something new...

Yes but it's all quite unclear; using this term "nice" in regards to Itaewon, pool and darts. Confused

If you want NICE then posers doing their best to look cool come with that. If you want a cheapo Itaewon hole with pool and darts then that's cool too, but can we describe that as nice?

You people are English teachers dammit, please work on your communication skills. Idea

If 80s pop music gives you the reaction it does me, stay away from Bulldog.

the bar's name is "bless u" and it's at the end of the street that sam's, scrooges, my thai china, etc.. are on. or alternatively, it's in the alley across from dillingers. the 2nd floor above my chi chis (or w/e that place is called).

dillingers isn't bad either, now that i think about it.

you can't really complain about a bar being non-rowdy and then talk about another one being too boring. it's either one or the other.

Saram gave you directions above. Across from the hill, behind Geckos and Bulldog.

I like JR's a lot. They have a good selection of beers and the food, like someone else mentioned, it pretty good.

my only complaints are the volume of the music, which can get absurdly loud, as well as the big fat idiot manager who is there sometimes screaming orders at the staff.

Kimchi's favorite bars have all burned down in the past year.

Where is the best place to go dancing in Itaewon. I just want to dance by myself mostly maybe with other people if they are good dancers.

Hehehe, I bet Troy wouldn't agree with your description of him Wink

But seriously, like most Itaewon staff, JR staff needs some screaming at. At least occasionally, to wake them up from their walking slumber and take orders from the guests.

For the OP:

JR is good for many things, they have pool and dart, food specials and you can pick a time when it's empty or crowded. A lot more Koreans come there now than used to.

Hollywood Bar & Grill has pool & darts as well, never crowded and they do have the best pizza in Korea.

New Bar Americano (where The Loft) used to be is "nice" but has nothing (yet).

Dolce Vita has several pool tables and dart boards, a polite but small crowd of regulars, and terrible food (eat before or after yoy go there).

L'Ocean is definitely "nice", nudge nudge wink wink. Don't bring your own girls.

Prost is only "nice" as much as Disney Land is a realistic representation of life. They cheat on the beer. The food is bah. Good to impress a fresh Korean date but not much else.

Bulldog, if you like 80's/90's music (much of the other places mentioned unfortunately stick to the idea that gangsta rap is, or used to be, cool and worth of playing at high volumes).

Actually, since 2011 almost all of Itaewon has become "nice". It may be easier soon to compile a list of places to avoid. Smoothie Kings and more coffee shops than puke stains on a Friday night.

I tell you, the time is near where the last good (not necessarily nice) places will only be found between hooker hill, homo hill and fish alley!
