Is this possible/done?
Should I be expecting to only pay half of the usual housing deposit?
Any help appreciated |

It's possible, but not common. You'll probably end up paying the same deposit amount. |

If you mean the chonsye (I know my spelling is bad) deposit, it may possibly even be higher for a short term rental, since the landlord will have less time to gather interest on the money. |

I found a tiny cube for a friend last year in Gangnam. It was $500/ month and no deposit (I think they just wanted $500 deposit) which is very rare for KR. |

You're probably looking at a Goshiwon for anything shorter than a year. Otherwise you risk having the landlord hang onto your deposit and keep deducting rent after you move out. Very few will actually let you sign for six months. |

Thanks for the tips! I think I'll stay put until this contract is up in that case |
