I went to Homeplus today and saw a lot of sauces for 1,000won. The sauces included Chinese style curry sauce, black bean sauce, and chili sauce. It is the simple stir in style sauce in a jar and they are all made my Tesco.
I don't know if this deal is just in this particular store but thought I would let you know. |

Not that this makes a huge difference with jars of sauces, but check the best before date on them.
It seems that TESCO sends their short dated stuff to Korea, based on the sauces and packets that i've bought in the past - or it just takes them 2-3 years to get here by container shipping!
Still taste fine though! |

That's a good tip Lucas. I checked the expiration date and they are either Dec of this year or early next year. |

That Tesco ice cream is very good, especially the caramel one. |

Update: The jars are now 300won. The woman at the checkout did a double look and we had a wee conversation about them. Also cans of mandarin segments are 300won. |

Damn that's cheap. Is it 'Use by' or 'Best before'? The later means it's okay to eat after the date.
My local has them at 2k, no idea of the date as I usually make my own.

It's all best before and the earliest date is December 2012. The others are Jan 2013 and Jun 2013. I don't know why they are so cheap at my store. Sorry it's not the case at your store. |

The Homeplus close to my home has been selling Tesco brand Fruit and Nut Muesli 750g for the past week at 2000won each. Then when i went in this morning they are selling the same Muesli for 700won!!!. I checked the best before date and its March 2013. I bought 4 on the spot and then called my wife to go and buy another 10. I'm making Muesli bars tonight! |

No worries. Sounds like Tesco have a lot to sell, don't mind losing money on some products to get more customers in the door and buying (called a 'loss leader'), and you were in the right place at the right time to take advantage. Congrats! |
