Anyone know what the process is for renewing an F4 visa in the States? I remember that when I first applied for it a couple years ago I had to drum up all these documents from Korea...
Do I need to present all those documents again or can I just take my passport to the consulate here and have them renew it?

| You can't generally renew F-visas overseas. If it expires while you're out of country you'll have to start all over. |

did you graduate school? Why would you be allowed to enter the country with an expired visa?
No, that means you need to get over here and renew your visa in-country before it expires. Otherwise, you lose the visa and you have to apply all over again.
If you're an american you can enter on the standard 90 day visa waiver, but you won't be entering on your F4 visa, you'll only be allowed 90 days in country and you'd have to transfer to an F4 (again applying from scratch) in country. |

I assume you still have your F4 card?
You'll have to do it in Korea. The only way I can see you being able to do it overseas, is get a Korean relative/friend submit all the docs for you. But that's a lot of leg work for them. And it would just confuse them as to why you need all these docs.
In person it's pretty easy, just gather the same documents as you did when you initially got your F4-Visa, and also your old card. |
