Hello,
I applied for a public school position(EPIK) and the recruiter is asking me to send all the Visa documents to them before the School Board mail the contract package. I read a few posts that stated ones should not send visa documents until they accept the job. In this case, I am accepting the job but the contract hasn't been mailed to me yet. Instead of the mailing the documents to the school itself, the recruiter is asking me to send the visa documents to them. Is this how it works for public school positions? If it helps, the recruiter's name is Canadian Connection. Please advise. Thank You!

I'm not sure how your recruiter works, but I believe most want to validate the documents and insure that they're actually credible before they send a contract. They do send those documents back after they've been verified. However, I would wait for a second opinion before you hold onto my word. |

I wouldn't send anything until I have the confirmation of job offer and signed contract from their end. Scanned copies of your original document should be enough for now. |

I agree, a copy of your documents should be enough. They have enough experience with this kind of work to know what is credible and what is not. I would not be sending anything until I had signed a contract and know it's for sure. A number of recruiters have asked for copies of different documents but I will only send my originals to my employer. They are the one applying for the visa issuance number, not the recruiter. Maybe it's a money game to make sure the school pays the recruiter, it's Korea afterall. Gotta love it!! |

I looked at Footprint Recruiting and they also do the same thing as Canadian Connection where they require the person to send them the visa documents before actually signing a contract. I guess, I should contact my recruiter and ask if it's sufficient enough to email or send the copy of my visa documents instead of the originals. Another thing is, in their acceptance package, I believe it states the recruiter - Canadian Connections would be the one to mail me the Visa application form. I don't know if they're being sketchy or if this is how it is going through a recruiter for an EPIK position. Please advise. |
