It's been AGES since I needed a visa change, but Ill need an e1 visa for the next semester.
I was planning on getting the visa issuance number from the university, as they will have processed it with immigration. To the best of my knowledge, I need the number, my passport, some photos and money. Am I missing something? I have had an e2 for YEARS, and have the criminal this and that, as well as the degree stamping and checking crap processed... No need to resubmit that, right?
I'll be doing this in Hong Kong.
Any feedback?
Thanks. |

Are you still on a Korean E-2 now? I am certain if you are on an E-2 now IN KOREA you could do a transfer E-1.
But it looks like you are in Hong Kong. Travelling? You say you are getting a visa issuance number. So you are getting a new visa not a transfer.
Looks like you might have to do a whole new application with it's applicable paperwork. Korean immigration usually wants all new paperwork for new visa.

It is pretty much the university who is doing the application process for you. As such, you probably need to provide more papers to the university rather than directly to the immigration. Once you get the visa issuance number, you can "pick up" the visa at an embassy, which can take days (or faster, if they are not busy). |

Are you sure about that? I just called Immigration, and they told me that I need to do a visa run? |
