I'm trying to plan what to do if I decide to leave my current job. If I do leave, I won't be giving any notice and will quickly leave the country.
Anyone ever heard of the pension office calling the employer? I've claimed it in the past and understand the process but would be in a sticky situation if my school found out that I was in the process of leaving. |

| I don't think it's possible to claim pension before ending employment. |

You always claim pension when you are back home. Might be a little bit more convulted, but it is doable. You can also try the airport refund routine.
As to them calling. I really do not know. I would think not, but the question of why are you leaving early might come up. Also officials like to make phone calls at times to check things out. So I would be careful. |

You cannot claim your pension before you end your employment.
You will need to take your chances and try to claim it from your home country.
Calling the pension office will not help you as they need to get paperwork from your employer (or at least that was the case before) in order to process your pension... |

If you do a runner your employment will be terminated once your employer finds out.
Go to the pension office, get the forms, and then submit them to the pension office by mail when you are back in your own country. The pension office will check the immigration database to see if your passport has been swiped leaving the country. After they confirm that, they will wire your money. |

| If a school is a bad place to work what are the odds that they've been paying into the pension? And if they don't pay can you still collect when you leave? |

You can file a claim with NPS as you're leaving the country. When you do, you should prepare and submit all your supporting documents to prove your claim. NPS will go after your boss for the pension money. As above poster mentioned, either file for refund at the NPS office or take their application form and mail it. |

If your employer has not paid into the pension scheme, you cannot get the pension money.
What will happen is that the employer may be required to pay whatever he owed into the scheme but so would YOU. Pension contributions are a split between employer and employee. |
