Did anyone else get a strange violent message? I spoke to some friends who are Korean experts. They said, Koreans sometimes do this to each other all the time. Go kill yourself, bla bla bla. It's really harsh and emotional. Obviously, in our culture if we do this, we think someone is crazy. More common place here. Sounds like some random Korean read our posts over many articles and copied and pasted the same message because he didn't like what we wrote. Well, too bad for him. I just wish there was not so much censorship of free speech here as there's been the last couple of years.
This is kind of like us telling each other to eff off or something. Don't worry about it even though it sounds really psycho. It's just Koreans behaving Korean like. (Not saying all, but many. Old crazy emotional illogic to it.) |

I think the forum would be more of a laugh if people were allowed to post those sort of things openly |

Just a note that account named in that thread is the same one that sent messages out a few months ago I would have thought it would be blocked. |

lol No. You're probably not very familiar with internet trolling. It happens everywhere.
Although, Koreans do tend to make death threats nonchalantly. Ex: "Let's die - me and you together" when someone's really pissed, or the infamous "You wanna die?"
The weird PMs are probably from some loser troll. |

You have no evidence that the originator of the messages is Korean.
I heard that it was a Canadian guy having a laugh. |

The PM's are from an internet Troll. The same PM's have been found on other forums besides Dave's ESL. |

It should be obvious that this is a bot message cooked up for no other reason than to make you freak out.
I actually find it mildly amusing to open up my inbox and get some wackily psychotic message. |

Nothing to do with "racist Koreans" or trolls. Just some bot churning out the same crap on various forums (fora?)
No big deal - Just delete it and move on. |

Are you sure? Whoever is sending these messages has some sort of problem. I wouldn't rule out anything as a motivation when dealing with a nut. |

Yes, 3 seconds on google will confirm that the messages and often usernames are appearing on all kinds of forums. What's odd is the moderators inaction and silence on the issue. For once this has nothing to do with them. All they have to do is block the accounts and say hey it's taken care of..instead they quietly locked another thread, and left an account that's been doing this unblocked since at least august. |

All around the world.
At a certain point the ignorance becomes wilful. |
