Howdy, I apologise if this is in the wrong section!
My girlfriend and I have moved to Gwangyang this week and we're looking for some fellow foreigners to hang out with or who can share some advice. Our Korean is pretty much non-existant and we have no idea what food to order and silly things like that so any help is appreciated!
We live in Jumadong which seems like a pretty lively place, lots of places to eat but not so much in the ways of general entertainment.
We're both from the UK (Scotland and Ireland) and are mid 20's. Interests are online gaming, art/drawing and various other stuffs. Hope to hear from some folks soon, here or PM.
Cheers! |

Hey, I don't live in Gwangyang but I live pretty close. There are a lot of really good people living there and it has an excellent community.
There is a foreigner bar called Bar String, search for that on facebook and you can see upcoming events. This Saturday there is an open mic night so you guys should drop by.
To get there just hop into a taxi and say 'Jungma Dong gee op eun haeng' (중마동 기엎 은행) I am not sure if the Korean spelling of gee op is right, maybe someone here knows..
Anyway that address is a bank right across the street from String, its on the second floor, black sign with white writing you can't miss it. |

Yep, it's a place I drive straight by because I can't wait to get over the GyungNam border and get away from horrible JeunNam drivers. |
