Hi there,

I have always been interested in those little floating fishing cabins ever since I saw the movie The Isle.
Can anybody provide any more info/details?

I think there are some in the Chopung area (not sure if romanized correctly).

Are there any other locations? (especially closer to Seoul)

Does anybody know of other locations? Also price range. The ones above seem to be about 50,000 won average I think.

I don't fish but I've always just been interested in checking them out since seeing that movie years ago. Smile

That looks awesome. I'd love to know more about them as well. Any idea what type of fish they catch?

I go sometimes and this is the site I usually use when devoid of personal recommendations. Just click around on the map in the area you want to go until you find a nice looking place and give them a call.
Usually there is no casting. You just throw in a float and a hook with a clump of grains and bugs on the end and do something else until you get a hit. Different places have different fish, but don't expect anything serious or you will probably go home disappointed.
I'm surprised that movie inspired you to go. Hope your stay is better than that guys.

Haha thanks. I will check that out more. I actually don't fish, so maybe that will be the good karma will protect me from getting the same treatment that that guy got in the movie.

I'm not sure whether I will go on not but I was always interested in that type of location - I saw the film in high school, years before coming to Korea. Not sure if it is inspiring enough based on the prices though. I'll need to examine the site to see if I can find a good place or not.

Thanks again
Cheers
