So apartment is warming nicely but for some reason I have no hot water. When taps are in hot position, no water at all. Lots of ice cold stuff though.

Any ideas?

Try pressing the hot water button "온수".

When you have the ondol heater to certain temperature and the room temp reaches the set temp, the boiler stops running until the room temp goes below the set temp again. Thus, you are trying to take a shower when the boiler is not running. In this case, if you need to use the hot water, you need to press the hot water button.

I've had same problem. Although it's improbable that the solution will be same. Anyway, the control unit on the wall said "점검", which means 'check'. I told that to the building maintenance guy and he came up to my place and pulled a lever on the boiler, said sumpen' 'bout water reservoir yakki-yak and left. Hey presto! back to jjimjilbang!

Thanks for your feedback. That was one of my first thoughts. However, that would not explain why there is no water coming out when handle is turned from centre to left (hot water).

I bet you've got a frozen pipe between your water heater and the tap. Gotta love a place that sees -20 every year and still routes their water lines outside....

This happened to my girlfriend the other day. Try cranking the heat up and try it after a few hours.....
