The reason why it's brand new is because I went through an insurance claim recently to replace a lost phone. I have 11 months left on it so it's perfect for someone who is planning on staying for a year. After the 11 months, the phone is yours and you can take it back home and insert another SIM card to have it operational.

I am currently on the LTE 4G 62,000/month plan and my monthly bill comes out to be around 90,000 KRW after including the subsidized price of the phone. Once we've changed the ownership, you are free to choose the plan according to your liking/budget. You will need an ARC card as well as a bank account to do the contract transfer.
