Can anyone please give me some advise on delivery of classes?

I am a beginner, I teach at 3 MS's in the countryside, the students are pretty basic.

Problem: the classes are boring....I still have to teach the material from the textbook as that is the material the students are tested on for certain. The students are roudy and it takes time to teach the related stuff.

I have plenty of time for each unit in the book. I know I need to supplement the units with powerpoints, videos, games, activities, etc.

My boss made it clear that she is not going to give me any guidance at all...I would have liked some as there is a mountains of work to prepare...I don't mind doing so...but if it is not well received by the students...seems like much time wasted considering a better teaching method would have been in order.

The problem is my delivery. I have a 100 hr TESOL and a degree. It doesn't seem like enough. Yes, I get lots of psych stuff on the learners, visual, audio, hands on; and also facter that affect each student.

I did ask the fellow teachers in the community....I did get very little advise...almost seems like "I was cutting in on their 'turf'" if you know what I mean. I did get ideas from BarryveryfunEnglish and Weygooking. However, what I need are more for lower language levels.

Also, much would be appreciated on teaching method, ie, the delivery. I am looking for the cure to student bordom.

Please give some related advise; not like...you're in the wrong field...you shouldn't be teaching....not everyone can be a teacher.

I believe that everyone can learn to teach well. I would appreciate some ideas on deliver...especially as a very serious teacher. I am not someone like Psy, or some stand up comic. Yea, I need to get the students to laugh, but teaching is clearly important.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Cheers.....

There are some ideas on this site that may help you.

Just go to the "home" link above,

then look up the "stuff for teachers" on the left hand side.

Then go to the "idea cookbook".

Some helpful hints there.
Also check out the waygook.org site (tons of stuff there)

Other than that, if you can find it there is a book called

"Teaching English to Children In Asia" by David Paul.

It has some helpful advice and 100 game ideas (some good, some not)

or try this:

Hope this helps.
