| If you go to immigration, there is a renewal form. Just fill it out and get the stamps(cost) needed. They stamp(or write) the extended time at the back of your card. That's it. Very simple. |

| I was wondering were there any documents needed? I know that the first time you apply for the F4 visa that you need alot of documents, you are you saying that all you need to do is fill out a form? |

| I heard it is. My friend has one. I don't know. Maybe a small stamp fee. |

Hi, my I'll be renewing my F-4 in July. Wondering, for those males who have renewed, what kind of docs do I need? I hope it will be a matter of the immi officer just signing the back.
Also, is it a problem getting another copy of my parents hojuk, since they've re-organized the hojuk system again? |

| when got my f4 I was told that all I would need to bring was the passport and my arc to renew. They'll probably make you buy the stamps. You also have to update your address. |

is there a time limit/date before you can start to renew your F-4? ie: can`t renew unless it`s 4 weeks within the date of expiry?
My F-4 will run out in about 3 months but going back home next month and don`t plan to return for a few months......so I`ll have about 6 or 7 weeks left on the remaining time left.
Not sure if they`ll let me renew it almost 2 months early? |

I just stopped by immigration and i need two documents.
기본증명서
and
가족관계증명서
I am in Mokpo.
Why is everyone saying i just show up with my passport and arc while immigration says i need these two documents again?
can i renew this at any immigration office?
The woman didn't know what the procedure was and she was looking it up in a book.
Can someone that actually renewed their F4 please answer the question.
Thanks. |

I think yuria is a girl, and therefore had little hassle to get renewed. Since there is no risk of getting dragged into military service.
I'm sure alot of us guys would like know any guy that has renewed Jan 1st, 2008 or after.
Anyways jeffkim, I have copies of both my parent's hojuk. I'm wondering if that will be enough to get the 기본증명서 and 가족관계증명서. Please post with information when you manage to get those 2 required docs. |

I think i know what a 가족관계증명서 is, that is the one with my family information, or is it? What is the difference between a hojuk and the 가족관계증명서 ?
but i have no idea what a 기본증명서 is.
Can anyone explain this one? I was working for a company when i initially got the F-4 and they mainly handled everything for me.
Military service? i've done everything required the first time, even deleting my original citizen number and creating a new one. why do i need to keep doing it? |

I think the 기본증명서 is the specific file of a particular person. So, if you were never registered in the hojuk, you'll need your mother's and father's.
As for the military service, logic doesn't come naturally to the guys at immigration. So, I'm gonna assume I'm gonna have to show them all the documents again plus some more.
I'll report back, with detail, when I renew. Which most likely will be sometime in July. |
