I've been to a few real estate agents in nonhyun and banpo and it seems like I have only been shown utter crap or highly expensive places to live in Gangam.
This is my third year in Korea and it seems to be that word of mouth is your best shot at finding a good place. If any of you can lead me in the right direction such as an email, former place, or former landlord I would be highly appreciative and willing to buy you a beer if you ever come in to itaewon!
Cheers,

Last place I rented in GN was in a villa, 60 sqm at 5 mil deposit and 1.8 mil a month (2008 prices), plus 200 k for maintenance. 5 min walk from Seolleung station and not much more to Hanti station.
Strangely though, my new place in Itaewon (the former foreigner district now populated by trendy Koreans) is smaller, has double the deposit and costs the same by area (2010 prices)
You may want to raise the reward |

There's places like that in Gangnam-gu, even with no deposit, but you need a Korean with you to fight it out with them. |

i live right in the area you are looking at and i went to many real estate agents with a korean in tow. i can confidently say that what you are looking for doesn't exist in this area. the rent is just way too high. for kicks i looked at some places around at almost double your monthly goal of 10mil key and 600-800k a month and they were pretty much crap. all of them. i eventually lucked out and got a pretty rad place in a great location, but it was all luck and the real estate agents were of no help.
if you want something in your price range gangnam is not the place you will find it sadly. |
