Does the KT Galaxy S3 come unlocked?
If I go out of the country and put in a new sim card, will it work? |

In addition, though, being released unlocked is one thing, but having incompatible bands (4G in particular) is another depending on where you're going. |

the KT version of the s3 is quad band and works almost everywhere in the world. the lte obviously won't work most places, but the 3g will. |

Eeeks, my Galaxy S3 is an "LTE" version.
So that means when I pop in a sim-card outside of Korea, the phone and data plan won't work at all?
Or will it just automatically downgrade to a 3G level? |

no you will be fine. mine is an lte version as well and i've used it all over the globe, as i also did with my s2. the lte s3 will automatically latch on to a 3g network in most countries using whatever provider's sim you choose. if you could find a country that uses korea's lte bands then you could use lte, but you will be hard-pressed to do so. |

I asked the phone guy and he said no it wont work
all phones in Korea come locked.
the only way for it to work is to unsubscribe from the Korean network
and then subscribe in your new country.
what the hell was he saying to me?
does that mean I have to cancel my contract in Korea before it will work
abroad? |

he must have misunderstood you. he probably thought that you were asking about your contract or something like that.
i am 100% positive that the galaxy range on kt comes unlocked. i've used multiple kt galaxys around the globe.
and no, you don't need to cancel your korean contract before it will work. |

I just used my s3 while home visiting in USA with no problems. Just got a pay as you go sim card, $50 for a month of unlimited talk, text & data. Not a bad deal! |

A few people above seem to be saying that a KT s3 will be unlocked and work anywhere else with the appropriate sim card.
Anyone know about other Korean carriers? How about an SK s3 or other SK phone? |
