... well almost.

There I was parking my motorcycle in a crowded garage, thankful that I can park her just about anywhere, when I say two Korean ajoshis arguing over the last parking spot. Unstead of the usual Korean shoving and shouting match, they decide to settle the dispute amicable .... with a rock\paper\scissors game Very Happy

I'd like to see Bush resolve North Korea doing this.

That story kicks ass.

I saw a rock/paper/scissors used to solve who was paying the bill at a restaurant the other night.

Is there any fairer way????

Rock Paper Scissors is the ultimate weapon when it comes to settling disputes. It would sort out the fiercest of battles among my former pre-school students . I even used it this afternoon with my husband!

I think we should bring this excellent and fair dispute settler to the attention of the UN asap ... best out of 3 Very Happy

We do a lot of rock, paper, scissor-ing during the course of playing games with Korean friends and customers. KOreans are incredibly adept at doing it veyr, very quickly, one "match" after the other. The non-Koreans involved are stuck trying to figure out the results of the first match-up while the Koreans getting ready to go again.

I think they must do a lot of it as kids to get so fast at it.

Try some modifications on the game.
Multi-Weapon RPS
Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard

("Live long and prosper" sign from Star Trek.) Each weapon defeats two others and is defeated by two others, as explained in the ten basic rules. Notice that rules 1, 2, and 3 are the same as in regular RPS.;

Rock crushes Scissors
Scissors cut Paper
Paper covers Rock
Rock crushes Lizard
Lizard poisons Spock
Spock smashes Scissors (presumably in frustration over his haircut)
Scissors decapitate Lizard
Lizard eats Paper
Paper disproves Spock
Spock vaporizes Rock

No, I'll have seen it all when I see rapier convincing Korean women to go out with him and sleep with him by beating them in RPS...

Could you imagine the UN Security Council deciding via Rock Paper Scissor whether or not a decison should be intiated or shot down? that would make for good tv Smile

I never saw this as satisfactory among hagwon kids. If the dominant kid lost he just kept pushing for best of 5, best of 7 until he won. Then the game was over. The less dominant ones always acquiesced. sad.

Yes. But these were grown, 40ish year old men wearing business suits. Of the kind of ajoshi you see stumbling drunk out of room salon on any given Saturday night.

Kind of strange to see them using rock\paper\scissors to settle a parking space dispute.

That's Korea for you.
