I just got offered a contract and I asked the school for the email address of a current teacher.

I want to find out if the place is a complete hell hole but I imagine the current teacher could get in trouble with their boss if they were completely honest.

what kind of questions should I ask to get a feel for how good the school is without asking the current teacher to stick his/her neck out?

is just emailing ok or should i ask for a phone chat?
