I've got a treadmill that has died and need some help on how to get rid of it. It's been turned down by the second hand store so that's not an option and I can't haul it out to the street by myself.

any suggestions on how to do this?

Drag it down to the street and set it outside.

The recyclers will usually grab it (lots of good steel in them).

If they don't take it within a week or so then stop into the dong office and buy a removal tag and the garbage guys will take it.

Last time I junked a big item (a sofa), the proper procedure was to phone the gu-office a day or so ahead, set a time, meet the guys with the disposal truck & pay them. But they made it clear I was responsible for getting it down to the curb beforehand. (Cost 10k won.)

I think systems vary by location. Used to be here that you'd go to the gu-office, buy an official sticker to put on your outsized crap, & just leave it out anytime. Maybe people complained about seeing old junk sitting around for days.

Every community has some official protocol for trashing big stuff. There'll be a desk in your local admin office that handles that.

By died do you mean not working? If so, why would you expect a second hand store to purchase or take a broken item?

For big items you need to buy a ticket or something to that affect to get it hauled away properly.

Cover it in cabbage leaves (make sure they stick). Put in Blue Bin. Done & cheaper than the Gu ticket.
