I'm posting on behalf of my best friend. He's moving into a villa in Nonhyeon that is COMPLETELY unfurnished. I know he/we can look into Craigslist and foreigner fire sales for goods, BUT where are good local shops or websites that our Korean brethren would go to?
SRSLY, you name it, his apt. needs it. I think all he has is a gas range. |

Thanks for the Internets help, but I guess I should've been more specific. I meant like proper shops (besides like refrigerator ajumma that sells used fridges). |

If you want to buy new furniture, not used, there are plenty of options in Korea. You may want to start at E-mart. They sell just about everything and it is relatively good quality and price. You can always return something if isn't right.
There are also plenty of areas where furniture shops congregate and if you are willing to bargain, you can get some very nice pieces at very reasonable prices. I am only familiar with the west side of Seoul, places like Garibong and even Sindorim have tons of stores.
My wife and I were able to negotiate 50% discounts at a shop around Garibong station because we paid in cash, we bought a lot and it was a day before a holiday.
Cheap furniture stores tend to congregate on the outskirts of Seoul or in Gyeonggi-do where rent is cheaper. Do an Internet search (preferably in Korean) and you should find them.
Good luck! |
