I bought an iPod Nano in Yongsan back in Feb 2009. I no longer have the receipt. It doesn't work any more. If I plug it in either to my PC or to an outlet I get nothing. It isn't possible to reset it using the reset trick. I'm planning to go to Seoul this weekend to get it fixed. Where is the best place to go? Is it worth going to Yongsan and finding someone? Should I go to an official Apple store and get Applecare which I hear is valid for the first 2 years which although I don't have the receipt this obviously is, as it's only been out for 18 months.

I had my touch fixed without the receipt. They can type in the reg number on the back. When I went in they didn't want to help me, without the receipt, but my KGF pushed the matter, and they came around. I went back to the place I bought it from.

If they do fix it, you will likely get a refurbed unit, not your original ipod.

Thanks for the info on Ubase. May check that out, though the pricing seems a bit steep. Ever heard of a private individual or a smaller service that does repairs for less? I understand they are a quite common alternative back in the west.

Personally, I think I may be done with ipods. Checked out several iriver and (samsung) yepp models today. I've had two nice ipods crap out on me after just a year had past each, with no abuse or accidents whatsoever. It's quite frustrating, because I otherwise like the products, but I would probably never give any other sort of company a third chance after such shoddy circumstances...

Somebody convince me to get another ipod...lol

^ Call me crazy, but neither of those threads have anything to do with an ipod.

iPhone Korea is a chain that repairs iphones, ipods, ipads and macbooks (some locations).

The Nowon center in Seoul is 20 seconds out of Nowon station (lines 4,7) exit 9. The owner/operator speaks English very well.

Check out the Nowon English website or call the English line for general information, directions and a detailed price list.

I want to second the above poster's mention of the iPhone Korea Nowon Service Center. I took in my iPod today to get the battery replaced.

The owner's name is Jae-Hyun Kim and he services iPhones, iPods, and iPads. He speaks perfect English and is a really friendly guy. On top of that, to get the battery replaced only cost me 50,000 won. I had a friend call the a# store in the Coex Mall and she got back to me that they were going to charge 280,000 won... No comparison!

Check out the website (http://applerepair.co.kr/en/index.html) and consider going there if Nowon isn't too far out of the way for you. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
