hey all. looking for a US tax attorney to help sort out tax issues back home. didn't file last year back home (most likely won't get taxed, judging from the money i make here... definitely under 70 - 80K). Filed in Korea only.
anyone ever use an attorney to handle filing issues? approx. how much are the legal fees in retaining one? is one necessary? this is semi new stuff for me, so could use the help. thx in adv! |

You don't need an attorney, you just need the right forms. I was in the same boat a while back. I downloaded TurboTax versions for the years I wanted to file and sent the forms in. No issues, and even got 2 years of returns for my US earnings.
IRS might have previous years' forms available if you don't want to spring for the software.
I checked now: You can get TurboTax versions back to 2008. |
