If you can't read Korean it's very difficult. There are several credit agencies in Korea, but I believe that they're less connected than the ones in the United States.

First mobile phone accounts do not appear on your credit report, but some banks will put checkcards on the report. So unless you have a credit card or one of the checkcards that reports you you don't have credit here. Kind of funny when the old excuse for not allowing foreigners mobile plans was because they couldn't check our credit.

Household untility bills aren't reported if you pay on time. Sorry I haven't experimented as to what happens if I don't pay bills in my name.

Anyway try:

www.allcredit.co.kr
www.mycredit.co.kr
www.creditbank.co.kr

to name 3.

I have heard that www.mycredit.co.kr will give you a 7 day free trial, but I couldn't find it. None of them will let foreigner numbers use their banking certificate to login to them, you need to use your name and password everytime. They all charge about w20,000 a year.

By the way get ready to have your e-mail box spammed out with offers for loans, but don't worry if you try to apply they all ask for your ID number to weed out foreigners and Koreans who have lived abroad trying to obtain them.
