Because I love me some procrastination in the morning, I've stayed past my 90 days before getting my medical and paperwork turned in. I've got the stuff ready to go now and made two attempts at getting it done last week but had to leave early to get to workImmigration was packed. Both times there were about 150 people in line ahead of me. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to arrive there before they even open their doors and I'm wondering whatif any-penalty they will apply. My boss has been vague about it, maybe a fine, somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-200k but I'm wondering if anyone has any more specifics. My biggest concern is them making me leave the country and re-enter. That would be a major inconvenience, not to mention expensive. |

There's a thread about this in the FAQ that you can check. It looks like it might be just a fine (100k or something).
As for immigration, you might want to try make an appointment. You can register on the HiKorea website and book it from there. I went to immigration last week in Seoul and I also had about 150 people in front of me. Went online to book and there was only ONE spot available in the next two weeks. Unreal. |

Thanks. I saw the ARC thread but the ones that might concern my situation were from 2003-4 and given the state of Immigration in Korea, I didn't trust them to be relevant.
You and I were probably in there together at some point, it was insane. It's three hours on the subway there and back for me. My hope is I can beg off the fine by claiming that it was packed and I couldn't get through in a timely manner. |
