Oh woe is me my life is a misery
First of all, one could argue whether the Won is really strong or not?

The second sentence in the article below is wrong..."According to a survey by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra), Korean exporters have asked overseas buyers to raise prices(sic) 10 percent since late last year,"

It should be PAY 10% MORE, not "asked overseas buyers to raise prices." Since when do buyers raise prices? Duh!

Anyway the rest of the article is comprehensible but laughable, it's like us asking our employers to pay us more whenever the currency fluctuates to our detriment.

"No currency relief seen for exporters"
Exporters are suffering with the strong won and that affects their relations with buyers.

"The latest survey came out very differently from the one conducted two years ago, which means that local exporters are suffering with the strong won and that affects their relations with overseas buyers, said Moon Jin-wook, an official at Kotra.

An American textile importer expressed discomfort that a Korean exporter recently asked for a 10 percent to 30 percent price increase, he said. The U.S. buyer said that if Korean companies raise prices by more than 10 percent, their products would be way more expensive than Chinese products.

I thought the "affects relations" was funny too but wouldn't it be better described as affects the bottom line? They get so personal when they have to compete don't they? Next month be sure to show the person who pays you at your hagwon this article and ask to be paid accordingly. Laughing

If they insured the quality was tops (ala the next country next to here, and not China), they could possibly get it. Itll probably drop to a thing about foreigners not having Jung and they hate Korea.

no?
