Does Korea have upgrades in Korea like in the USA? Like getting a phone cheaper for signing up, etc? Is it easy to get a phone in Korea? Does your school help pay for it?

If you have a valid ARC and want a new 2 year contract, you don't pay a penny down for the phone. It's calculated into your monthly bill. If you don't have your school to help you, try:

http://expatblog.kt.com/ and they can direct you to an english speaking store.

A new smartphone on a 6GB 4G plan will run you about 80,000-90,000 W a month for everything. 3G service is maybe 10,000 W less or so and no data limits.
