Reference Letters:
Do you get two that say just a a general outline then use them broadly or do you wait for a specific job?
Medical check:
Do you wait for the form to get your doctor to fill out or do a general one of some sorts?
Criminal record check:
If any of you are Canadian i wonder if you've been able to do this any other way than the rcmp as they take many months. |

I asked people to do references if I needed them so they could be tailored accordingly, and put 'references available on request' on my resume, but was never asked for them.
You'll be sent a medical questionnaire with your contract when you get one, and then do a medical when you get here, so it's not something you have to organise yourself.
Not Canadian, so can't help with the third part, sorry. |

1. If you get your referees to tailor their letters for each job, you will be asking them to do too much. Just get them to write one letter, but make multiple signed and sealed copies.
3. I think there is an agency that will do CRCs quickly now for an extra fee. ( http://www.reliabilityscreening.com/eng/international_fingerprints.shtml ) I haven't used this service, so I don't know how "reliable" it is. Some people have had success with the checks done at local RCMP detachments, but it's a bit of a risk and depends on who you are dealing with at immigration. |

I'm Canadian. You don't need to do the one with the fingerprinting. I just submitted a basic CRC..had it done in about 45 minutes. |

Are you at home or abroad?
-Reference letters: 2, generic letters.
-Medical check: self medical for the application. You will need to do a medical AFTER your arrival in Korea as part of the ARC application process. They will NOT accept a medical from home.
- RCMP - only takes a short while if you are in Canada. Pop into your local detachment and get it done. IF you are abroad then it takes months.
Then you need to send it off to the Korean consulate for certification.
You also need to get a "certified true copy" of your degree made and then have that/those copies certified by the Korean consulate.
