|
|
We just got a new Smart Board for our classroom; I think that's what they're called. Now when you touch it, if it's on PowerPoint it will advance to the next slide. But the kids like to play flyswatter games, where they hit the right answer on the board. Do any of you know how to turn off the feature that makes it advance when you touch it? It would really help if we could do that. |

I'm dealing with a smartboard and powerpoint now too.
Try this:
Hit the button for right click (physical button at the bottom of the smartboard)
Touch the smart board , now a menu should pop up
Go to "pointer controls" on the menu
change to "pen"
Now when you touch it should mark the spot.
To go back to arrow, repeat above steps and change "pen" to "arrow"
If your smartboard doesn't have the "right click" button on the bottom, you can just touch the smartboard in one spot for a long time and it will open up the same menu on screen. |

Thanks so much, I will try that. I'm really glad there's a way to change that setting. |

An easier way might be to change the option within powerpoint itself. My classroom has a touchscreen TV so I do this for most of my presentations.
If you're in Powerpoint 2007, go to the slide in question and then in the animations tab disable the check box "Advance slide on mouse click". If you need to change this for a lot of slides, you can select everything in the left hand-side viewer by clicking on one slide and then pressing Ctrl+A. Disabling the check box as before will then apply the setting to all slides.
You won't be able to click through with the mouse any more, but can still use the keyboard arrow buttons / space bar / enter bar / page up & down buttons so it's not a major loss. |
