I looked around but couldn't find any information on this topic. I am mostly confused about why the start date is over a month from now instead of ASAP. Does anyone have an idea why they aren't trying to hire ASAP? Does this mean somewhere down the line, a teacher didn't show or quit and the replacement only got there in May? Would I end up teaching a half semester followed by a full semester followed by another half semester? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can start in May because of scheduling. In March, the school just started and there are more important things to do than English. In April, students take time off and do extra-curricula activities that they used to do on Saturdays. They used attended every second Sat up until 2011. Once again, English classes are cut. So, full schedule for English doesn't really begin until May. Then you have 1st quarter tests. Nice isn't it? Very Happy

Ok, that makes sense, thanks for the reply. I will be teaching the following march and April though, right?

Could also be that the NET they have there started in an off time and their contract ends in May. As soon as they'd leave, you would be taking their place.

Yes, you'll sign for 12 months. F visa holders have option of signing for less, i.e. 10 months.
