Sometimes we get "brain spurts" after a number of trial and error approaches when we first start a class and experiment with what works and what doesn't.
In my case, although not original, I developed class blogs for my conversation classes, that included short reading, videos w/transcription, and dialogues. Plus, target vocabulary, idioms and grammar.
In one class, I had a student getting ready to try out as a flight steward, so I wrote and recorded a blog dialogue where she could practice boarding a passenger, listening to me (the passenger and then reading her part (the cabin steward). It helped improve her confidence.
