Does anyone know of a place in Itaewon that sells Pepto Bismol? If so please give directions and when you saw it. I've looked online but the info is really old.
Also please don't recommend Korean alternatives.
Thanks. |

I might've seen one such bottle at the international store up the road from the fire station across the street from the Hamilton Hotel. It's the large store on the left side of the street as you're walking uphill.
What's wrong with Korean alternatives? Go to a pharmacy and ask for something for your gut. They'll likely give you the stuff that's the active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol. Just ask for 살리실산 제1창연 (Sal-lee-seel-san je eel chang-yuhn (Bismuth-subsalicyclate). |

I ordered some pepto-bismol online. I'll have a look around Itaewon too when i'm in the area but i'm not going all that way for a "might've".
Your suggestion to go ask a pharmacist for salicyclate acid seems a bit odd. If you have the name of a drug available in Korea with the active ingredient then let us know. But you'll be doing something my pharmacist, wife, and assistant have all been unable to do. |

I bought a bottle of Pepto Bismol at the underground market in Namdeamun. I drink it a bit now and then. But, honestly, it doesn't work as well as the Gaviscol double action liquid pouches they sell in most pharmacies here. Buy those instead. When the heartburn flares up, drink one of those bad boys, it'll fix you up real good. |

Hey Weig,
I'm looking for the pepto to help with the diarrhea, and sadly gaviscon doesn't help with that.
I've tried Korean alternatives but they're garbage.
Anyway, i ordered pepto-bismol online. I'd advise anyone in a similar position to do the same because nowhere in itaewon had it. |

Ah ok. My issue was heartburn which worked well. Pepto is better for diarrea. Glad you could find it online then. But if you ever get the runs really bad, don't hesitate to see a local doctor and get a prescription or even a university hospital. Their prescriptions will usually be quite strong as opposed to some over the countrer stuff which is usually weak.
Glad it all worked out for you anyhow. |

Obviously your wife didn't try very hard.
The active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate
헬리박정(차살리실산비스마스)
has been available for years in Korea. Most pharmacies don't keep it in stock, but you can order it. It'll come in a bottle of 100 pills. |
