I am kind of pleased about the chance to teach in a public school in Jeollanamdo this spring, I am almost at the point of sending off my documents by FEDEX. I am excited about the new job.
But what is it like to teach there? It would be nice to read POSITIVE news! The recruiter mentioned jobs in towns and small cities, but is it likely to be rural? I wouldn't like a rural placement. I have taught children a lot before but not in the state system. I'd like to find out from people who have taught in public schools, and elementary schools in Jeollanamdo.

The paperwork involved in the application is crazy. Whoever devised it really needs to undergo psychoanalysis because they must have had an awful childhood.
I am told I should send all my documents by Thursday-and oh, I just discovered that now I also need to see a doctor in my country for a basic medical test That of course will take time, because I need to make an appointment and then be seen, and then gather yet another piece of paper. But is it really legallly necessary to go and see a doctor in my country when I will get a full physical in Korea?

Jeollanamdo is quite rural. The only big city is Gwangju. I haven't worked in public school, so I can't tell you about that.
