A Guardian/BBC Arabic investigation of torture centres in Iraq and their links to the Pentagon is now complete and a film, "James Steele: Americas Mystery Man in Iraq," has been released and is playing in the Arab world and Europe.

Quote:
The Guardian/BBC Arabic investigation was sparked by the release of classified US military logs on WikiLeaks that detailed hundreds of incidents where US soldiers came across tortured detainees in a network of detention centres run by the police commandos across Iraq. Private Bradley Manning, 25, is facing a prison sentence of up to 20 years after he pleaded guilty to leaking the documents.

Samari claimed that torture was routine in the SPC-controlled detention centres. "I remember a 14-year-old who was tied to one of the library's columns. And he was tied up, with his legs above his head. Tied up. His whole body was blue because of the impact of the cables with which he had been beaten."

Here's a link to an in-depth interview with journalist Maggie O'Kane and footage from her film (mentioned above) on the subject: http://www.democracynow.org/2013/3/22/new_expos_links_torture_centers_in

The torture here is much worse than that revealed at Abu Ghraib, and it's much clearer that this is systematic, organized, and planned at the highest level. The torturers were organized and trained by James Steele, who also organized death squads in El Salvador in earlier years.

Presumably(?) this will soon become headline news in the US the same way Abu Ghraib was.

Its long. I recommend skipping past the prologue parts about James Steele in Nicaragua.

The video alleges that Americans at the highest level knew, and tacitly approved of, Shia torture of Iraqi detainees. James Steele is the direct American link, as he trained the Shia torture squads.

A lot of the evidence is indirect, but the allegations are very plausible.

I think I am going to see the new Sherlocke Holmes movie with Robert Downey jr. It explains the direct link between a drug addict/pusher and Scotland Yard. probably headlines in Britain in a few days.
