Are there plenty of gyms (for working out) and swimming pools in Seoul? I imagine indoor pools is what i would need, since it gets really cold there in the winter. If i do move out there, i would need to think about staying fit. Are there usually one or two in a neighboorhood? Probably one within walking distance? Are swimming pools generally clean? How much do they cost? how much does a gym membership cost? |

I hear there are many indoor swimming pools in the larger cities.
For those of us on the east or south coast, and for me on the southeast coast, there's another swimming option.
Check out my new avatar.
The beach is one of a dozen just minutes away by bus for those on Geoje Island.
It's part of my daily existence.
And the water is warm now! |

I found one at Kim's club near Yatap station (like 2 mins from the station). Yatap is on the Bundang line and is only 3 subway stops away from Sunae, where I'm staying.
Cost? A LOT.. 89,000/month!!!
But you get what you pay for, towel service, your own lockers and also they have a public bath and sauna. Showers have nice warm water which is really nice after a good swim and long day at work! Also the fact that it's pricey keeps little kids away (xcept for the rich kids), allowing more enjoyable lane swimming
It's actually a swimming/sports club. I'm sure there are lots of swimming pools around, since they are mostly joint with sports clubs. Just find a big sport club and you'll be fine.
