Hi all.
So my Mom is coming over to visit for a couple of weeks in June. We would both like to go China for a week or so, but I can't get a Chinese tourist visa while I have less than 6 months left on my Korean E2 visa (a very bizzare rule if you ask me).
Anyway, I contacted the Chinese embassy in Ireland (my country) and they told me there's no way I can get the visa while still having a Korean visa with less than 6 months one it. They did, however, say that I could go to Hong-Kong and apply for a Mainland of China visa from there.
It sounds a bit sketchy so I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this, or knows someone who has done. Is it easy to do? Do you have to apply for it in person or can it be done before you go? Does it cost very much? I've got zero experience with all things China-related so it's any advise would be helpful
Cheers, |

from what I've heard, yes, that's how a lot of people do it. they hit hong kong get the visa there, because it's some how "different" and then go over. |
