I'm not here looking for medical advice, but am curious of people's experiences. I've had a fever of around 38-38.5 for the past 2 days now. My wife is insisting I should go to the hospital. In the US I never went to the doctor or hospital because they usually say to drink fluids, get rest, etc.
My question is, for those of you that went to the hospital and had an IV for several hours, do you think it makes a difference? Worth it to go through the trouble? |

No! Fever is your friend, burning away pathogens & making you stronger.
Hospitals suck you into antibiotics, reduced immunity, & big pharm dependency. |

My "fever" and a Korean hospital went like this: I had to go to the hospital in 2009 upon returning from the States to satisfy the MOE that I was fit to return to work (got a whole week off for self quarantine) during the H1N1 crap. The old bag took my temp (37.4ish) and yelled out "FEVER" for all to hear and threw a mask at me insisting me to wear it. I refused her request and went on to get my influenza test, which turned out surprisingly enough to be negative.
As far as those "injections" as they call them (IV drip to the rest of us) go, it seems that they are the cure all for all ailments. Hell, even my wife here in China, who is a doctor, believes in that. |

I went to the hospital and got one of those IV's and it cleared my fever instantly. I only went when the ibuprofen stopped reducing my fever. It was worth it and I felt a million times better. I say why suffer when you can feel better sooner? After you get better just exercise regularly so that you have a better chance of not getting sick again. |

Go to the hospital. My friend just went last Monday and he has the pneumonia. He spent 3 nights in the hospital and is now doing outpatient treatments. |

I wouldn't go with a low-grade fever like that. Last week I was shown a proof of a new book by Korea's only woman orthopedist. Part of the title was why doctors don't go to hospital when they're sick. It's mostly about over-treatment in Korea due to the way doctors are paid. |
