i thought i remembered the law changing a couple of years back, that hogwans were supposed to close doors at 10pm, to prevent high school kids being over worked?
was that true or did i imagine it? |

it's still in effect.
i think the math hagwons are more notorious for it than the english ones (at least the ones that employ foreign teachers). |

It's law, but whether the hagwon follows it or not...that's a different story.
I know the police have been conducting raids of suspected hagwons that go over the allotted time. |

This is a local regulation that was put into effect in some cities, such as Seoul, by local Education offices. It is not nationwide. Different places have different rules or none at all. There is no law or statute, just local Dept of Ed rules. |
