I have to fill in for one day to teach a scout's class.
There are about 20 students in the class (about half boys and half girls).
They are grades 5 and 6 and the class is being done in a small school gym/multipurpose room.
Any ideas are most appreciated.
Thanks!!! |

I also wonder how a scavenger hunt and/or a survey (with a worksheet hand out and them asking questions to other students) might go over......................... |

hahhah that was the first thing I thougth of too.
There are the fun things like fire, woodcutting, first aid, etc but they are risky if you aren't their usual scout leader.
Ergo,
Knots. Just make sure they don't start doing nooses all the time. |

If you're interested and the class is still happening, I can email you a 5 page booklet on knots - there's around 70 knots on there you can do with them.
Get some some ripcord on amazon or ebay and show them that.
This should keep them busy for hours...if you include real-life applications on how to use the different knots... youtube can be your best friend here also. |
