That's right. I got two out of the six numbers required for the jackpot! Moreover, had I gotten six out of the six it would have taken me about 2.3 picoseconds to purchase a one-way ticket out of this picturesque and cosmopolitan little democracy.

I'm not sure where I would go but the southwest of Australia, the west coast of Canada, or that little part of Europe where Switzerland, France and Italy come together is quite nice.

Of course I would miss K-girls, but that is about it. Sorry Korea.

Story of my life every week... I have managed to hit 4 numbers a couple of times-- 50,000 won. I hardly blink an eye when I get the 3 numbers for 5,000. Frustrating thing is to get all six on 1 ticket, but not in a row. Evil or Very Mad

I wonder if they'd hand over a winning jackpot to an 'alien'. I was told that a foreigner can't win the 1st prize, you'd need a Korean to claim it for you. Don't know if it's true, but wouldn't put it past them.

People who play the lottery are about the dumbest people on earth. Think of all that money you've thrown away over the years. You'll never win the jackpot so save your cash.

OP, don't worry about missing K girls. You can see nothing but them in western Canada or LA. Aussieland too.

If you believe in fate you may do it, or purely to keep the tiny possibility of winning the lottery alive.

Yeah, a thousand won a week IS pretty exorbitant. I'll just have to walk more and eat cheaper food to make up for it. Rolling Eyes

How much do people spend on those? If it's just like 10 bucks a week that seems harmless enough. Those machines in the bars, though, wow. There are people blowing a fortune on those, in Canada anyway.

I heard lottery in Korea is rigged. They use the preselected 6 balls in slightly smaller size so that they are only 6 balls that make it through the hole and be selected. In one occasion in live televised drawing, they goofed and only mixed 5 smaller balls so the last sixth ball wouldn't come through the hole. They ended up bringing in a new set of balls in a briefcase and redrew the six numbers. Again, this happened during live drawing on tv.

They redrew the same five numbers?? Man, oh man... Shocked

Even if they drew different numbers, could you imagine having the first five numbers checked off, in anticipation of the sixth one, only for the numbers to be scrapped for a new set? Crying or Very sad

The best gambling luck I ever had in South Korea was when I went to Seoul Racecourse Park - in Gwacheon - on July 7, 2007 (7/7/7) and bet horse number 7 in the 7th race, and (I kid you not) the name of the horse was "Lucky Seven"! I'm not sure how much I bet exactly, but the exacta paid over 2 million won.

You are going to need that money to buy you out of what ever level of hell that little demons go to for contributing to the abuse of animals for human entertainment.

By the way...congratulations on the win...sweet. Cool

So, I am not the only one who buys the lotto tickets.

I usually just spend 5k won a week. The odd 10k. I call it my dreaming money. People spend more money of a drink or a movie and get less then what I do just imagining.

Yea, I know the odds are against me, but so what....
